I was fortunate to ride Wanaka-Cardrona rtn while NZ was in lockdown so next to no traffic. No way I would do that route otherwise. Some of the main roads out of Wanaka are pretty busy. Hawea north to Haast is a nice ride with less traffic, particularly in winter when less tourists around. However the gravel is awesome. Another great vid Keira!

I'm a 350 pound FAT man. So ebikes are a god send to getting out there and having fun and exercising regularly. And eventually I'll probably go down to an acoustic bike again once I'm fit enough.

Just got myself a bianchi because of this video. Been watching like 5 times a year for nearly 3 years. But now I've decided that its time. Just bought a Bianchi 58cm bike. I know the Fork is a Condor chrome straight fork but the handlebar! What brand is it? @kieraMcVitty and @jacobhennessy4934. I'd also like to buy the decals or the illustratior files if possible :)

Hi and thanks for such a chilled insight. I'm really keen to try Rocacorba and to stay in Girona. I was wondering if anyone has some advice on the traffic etc from Girona centre to Banyoles - it seems difficult to avoid trunk roads. Or am I worrying too much?

I had hit 300 pounds, and im down to 270 now riding my ebike one a weekly 40 to 50 mile ride. Ive seen my average watts go from 120 to 200 over the last 4 months. I do basic work outs 5 times a week. Push ups, crunches, planks, and now im fit enough to ride my normal bike again for long rides. Ebike is so fun though as you can decided how hard you want to work. You can go out and sprint for 30 miles, and then pop it into sport mode and glide home. I don't have a car, just a Bosch powered ebike, and its my car, RV, and fitness rider. I really love it.

Hi there. Thank you so much for posting this video. My brother in France sent it to me and said I should watch this. I came over to see my brother last summer and did the same grand Fondo and as I was watching you, I couldn’t believe how similar it was to my experience. I can totally relate with how you felt both physically mentally, and the tears. I should’ve come and found you at the top of the col de Feu as I was also sitting there for about an hour with very similar feelings. I sat in the shade behind some of those trucks trying to feel remotely normal, and then texted my sister-in-law to say that I would be Descending this col and could she pick me up in Chalex. I don’t know what it was, but I managed to get myself together and struggled through the remainder of the race. I will say that I only started to feel normal as I was descending into Morzine. All the way up the Col de Jeux P people were on the side of the road in the shade in the oppressive heat. The final col took me a long time to climb and it was miserable. I totally think you made the right decision.. A big risk yes but I don’t think I was feeling as bad as you have described. I think you made totally the right decision and you are not alone. Thank you again for posting this video and your thoughts and leaving your ego at home. I think opportunities like this, make us all so much stronger. We see it in the pro races and it’s not always a Rosie picture for us all. It often comes down as you know so the weather on the day and how you feel on the day , well done again and congratulations and thank you for posting this. I don’t know if I’ll be making the trip to Nice this summer as it’s a long way from North Carolina but I very much hope to do this amazing experience once more.
